“Weaving becomes an act of resistance, a way of affirming that connection remains possible even after fracture”
“Between What Breaks and What Binds”
Statement
Between What Breaks and What Binds is a sculptural textile installation composed of the fragments of a dismantled chair suspended on a wall. Though physically separated, its pieces remain connected through a network of threads that traverses the space, creating a structure that is both fragile and resilient.

The chair— a silent witness to lived experience—becomes a site of fragmentation. Its parts evoke bonds, geographies, and identities that have been disrupted, while each fragment retains the traces of its own history.
From these remnants emerge threads that stretch, tension, and intertwine, tracing paths that speak of migration, care, and resilience. The work reflects on the relationships between people and territories, not as isolated entities, but as histories deeply woven together through movement and shared memory.
