“Lighter Legacy”
Statement
This piece represents the inherited weight we carry, both strengths and burdens. The upright chair symbolizes the individual, grounded and aware, while the fallen chair, pulled by threads, embodies the emotional, cultural, and historical burdens we bear. It forms a visual dialogue between who we are and what we carry, between strength and fragility, between the present and the past.

The heart, embroidered in cross-stitch on the upright chair, symbolizes the essence of our soul and the legacy of our ancestors. The expanding circles represent the generations added over time, deepening our connection to history.
The tension in the threads highlights how these burdens bind us, often unconsciously, repeating unresolved emotions and stories. Recognizing and healing them becomes a path to liberation, transforming pain into awareness, sadness into gratitude, fear into courage, and anger into love. By letting go of what no longer serves us, we create a lighter legacy for future generations.
"Lighter Legacy" invites to reflect on the need to release, forgive, and transcend. It honors our roots while calling us to find balance between memory and the present, between what we inherit and what we choose, between weight and freedom. Through this process, we create a legacy that is lighter, more empowered, and filled with possibilities for growth and transformation.
